The branch managers and volunteers’ supervisors in Latet Tikva held work meetings with the heads of children’s wards in hospitals throughout the country, before the 2014 Passover holiday.
Latet Tikva’s representatives requested recommendations for the ideal activities for the children fighting harsh diseases and their families from the hospital doctors who attend to the unwell children day after day. In accordance with the recommendations, a rich activity program was constructed for Passover 2014, to grant the unwell children real freedom in this holiday of freedom.
- Special activity for fun and recreation on the intermediate days for unwell children with harsh diseases and their families, allowing the children to cut themselves off from the black world and to join the world of fun, giving them the strength to go on fighting the disease. The recreation camps will include hikes, performances, attractions, and lots of fun.
- Many families “fell” into economic distress due to the struggle with the disease. The volunteers of Latet Tikva will give each family a special food basket, including dry products.
- Moreover, we will take care of hot, tasty festival meals for the young patients and their families – in the hospitals and in the parents’ homes – so that they won’t have to work hard cooking.
That way we’ll give the unwell child hope.
