Restoring the sparkle to their eyes – a vacation camp for seriously ill children

The children of Latet Tikva, suffering from severe illnesses, face difficulties that most adults can’t even imagine – surgery, treatment, pain, side effects, and more. To face these difficulties requires courage, hope and a strong will. But sometimes these kids need to just let go, a change of atmosphere, to revert to being kids and recall life’s simple pleasures.

Continue the light 

There are children who for various reasons (medical condition, treatment, etc.) were not able to participate in the last vacation camp of Latet Tikva – it is for these children that we have organized another recreational camp which will be held at the beginning of February.

Just a few days away – away from the hospital, the treatments, the pain and suffering – are an incredible contribution to the strengthening both the body and soul. For three days these wonderful children can go back to being kids – to laugh, have fun, be happy – and return with renewed drive and vitality to their lives and the battle against their illnesses.

Contributing to their health

Doctors confirm that when the children return from a vacation camp back to treatment, the blood test values show remarkable improvement, as is true of their state of mind!

Their expression says it all

Latet Tikva’s recreation and rehabilitation camp is a unique framework that provides these sick children with an extraordinary experience, in an environment adapted to their specific needs. The kids return from the camp to their routine fortified and cheered up, but not only  the children – if the budget suffices, the children are joined by their family members, who also need to spend quality time with their loved ones in an agreeable setting, outside medical institutions. These family members also return with renewed strength, allowing them to continue to support the children, and provide them with care and encouragement they need.

Our reward is their smiles – that continue to accompany us long after the end of these unique fun-filled days
