Final preparations are being made for the summer camp for the child patients of Latet Tikva.
Along with the invitation to the camp, the unwell children received a rare and moving letter of support written by Knesset Speaker Yoel (Yuli) Edelstein, especially for the Latet Tikva children.
Edelstein wrote to the Latet Tikva children of his personal experience when fighting cancer, from which his wife died this year.
This is what Edelstein wrote: “In the past year my family and I experienced the hardships that come with the fight against cancer and its accompanying treatments. I know well how important it is when fighting the disease to take the little moments of rest and joy and be replenished by them. To fight the disease, one needs much strength and faith – and the Latet Tikva camp will provide you with the energy and strength so vital to you.
“I want to thank the camp’s organizers – the counselors and volunteers for their efforts in organizing such a pretty camp.
“With a heart full of prayer I wish you a healthy summer filled with good experiences.
“I am certain that after camp ends you’ll return happy and joyful and you’ll succeed in struggling with the difficulties facing you.”
[Signed: Yuli Edelstein]
